Camp Cadet
- Camp Cadet is offered each summer to boys and girls between the ages of thirteen to fifteen at Camp Seph Mack, BSA in Penn Run, Indiana County. The camp is open to residents of Indiana County and there is no fee to attend. Participants have the opportunity to work alongside Pennsylvania State troopers and other volunteers to learn about the diverse criminal justice system and also to establish an early, positive relationship with law enforcement personnel.
- Camp Cadet is structured to resemble the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. Participants are addressed as "Cadet" throughout the week and are required to participate in all of the camp's scheduled events. Please note that Camp Cadet is NOT a boot camp. Camp Cadet focuses on discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, and many issues facing today's youth.
- Camp Cadet is a non-profit organization. Donations and contributions provide meals, lodging, and programs so that they may be offered at no cost to the youth who are wishing to participate. As a result, youth from all social and economic backgrounds have the opportunity to attend the camp at minimal cost.
The Camp Cadet program is NOT in any way intended to serve as a "Boot Camp" for your child, and is NOT a solution for discipline problems within your home or school environment. Applicants accepted into the Camp Cadet program MAY BE REMOVED AT ANY TIME if they display repeated negative behavior considered to be disruptive or contrary to the goals of Camp Cadet.
